My husband and I took advantage of the gorgeous fall weather and lower temperatures yesterday and went for a short hike up Kennesaw Mountain.  It has been too long since I've done that and I was reminded of how very fortunate we are to have such a treasure nearby.  The view from the top of the mountain yesterday was absolutely gorgeous. 

 

I love the history of the mountain too, and seeing the earthen mounds that sheltered soldiers during the Civil War, still visible today.  It is fascinating to stand up there and picture what Marietta and Atlanta must have looked like from the mountain all those years ago.
